The spectacular setting of this private, walk-on waterfront home offers a quiet escape from the stress of everyday life!  Relax and unwind with breathtaking views, abundant wildlife, private beachfront with firepit, boat launch and swim float. Launch your kayaks or SUPs from the front lawn and paddle the protected waters of Baynes Sound to a different destination each day of the week. A protected Marine Park is only a 30-minute paddle away.

This former family home has been a popular VRBO vacation rental for nearly a decade, with one group of guests returning eight times. It is now time to move on and pass this gem of a property on to someone else.

This is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 2200-square-foot home in a quiet residential neighborhood, 10 minutes south of Courtenay in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, BC, with private beach, forested areas, fruit trees and unlimited breathtaking views.

Comfortable accommodation is available for up to  6 adults in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.  Put your feet up, kick back and watch the ever-changing scenery and wildlife activity happening all around you.

Plunk your kayak in the water at your doorstep and paddle on to serenity, beauty and adventure.  There’s so much to explore in the protected waters of Baynes Sound–an ideal paddling destination for the whole family.

Join the Gym at the nearby Kingfisher Spa

The Kingfisher Spa is only a 3-minute drive away.  Yearly memberships and discounts are available at a discount to local residents.

Attend a gentle, relaxing, restorative yoga class in their Starfish Studio, follow up in the outdoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, steam cave, sauna and change room facilities–and a well-equipped Fitness Studio as well.

Hydropath – Another wonderful experience you won’t want to miss (unless you don’t like water!), is the Pacific Mist Hydropath, which we’ve enjoyed many times.

I find it especially restorative with a massage before or after the Hydropath.

Cozy Comfort Year-Round on the Beach

Upstairs, the principal bedroom boasts a King-sized bed with memory foam topper. The second bedroom has a queen bed with memory foam topper. Downstairs is another queen with memory foam topper and its own cozy electric fireplace.

Relax......

Relax……

The kitchen is fully equipped, with full-size fridge/freezer,  ceramic-top stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave and all dishes, utensils–even a spice rack, replaced every year. Amenities also include an outdoor propane barbecue, two drip coffeemakers, coffee grinder, blender, and more.

Marvel at the ever-active, abundant wildlife – from bunnies and deer on the lawn to seals, sea lions, orcas, dolphins, porpoises and more.

Meet our resident team of eagles Harry and Helen, and watch Monty, our resident Great Blue Heron, fishing for his breakfast (and catching it!) right in front of you every morning.

Listen to the calls of the Purple Martins, who three years ago built a very rare natural nest in the pilings out front.

Launch your kayak, canoe or SUP steps from the patio and enjoy the calm, clear, protected waters of Baynes Sound that are a paddler’s delight.

Relax on the private beach and enjoy a good book. In the evening, gather round a cozy campfire – weenie sticks and firepit cooking grate provided.

Plan your wedding, birthday party or family reunion here, where there is something for everyone.

The lower floor includes the third bedroom, which includes a Queen bed with memory foam topper, and an electric, wall-mounted fireplace to keep you cozy no matter what the weather is doing outside. Enjoy the sitting area outside this room, play some ping pong, or wander out into the morning sun for breakfast on the seasonal covered patio.

A second coffemaker is available for setting up separately for those sleeping downstairs.

Included are many extras, such as a guitar & tuner, water shoes & goggles,  a compact stereo with ipod dock, music CD’s, TV with DVD player and a selection of award-winning movies, and high speed wireless/cable internet and Cable TV. You might not even want to bother watching TV.  One of our guests called the living room window, “our big, 10-foot widescreen TV,” because there is constant wildlife activity out there.
